About the Author
Pamela McColl, a history and art major, for twenty-five years worked as a corporate art consultant. In the late 1990s she moved into the book publishing field. In 2012, she published Twas The Night Before Christmas, edited by Santa Claus for the Benefit of Children of the 21st. Century. The publication created a global media sensation as the first smoke-free edition of the poem. Twas The Night - The Art and History of the Classic Christmas Poem ( September 2022) was a labor of love for the author/publisher - incorporating her interest in art, of history, and her fondness for Christmas and the poem in her new book.
Pamela spent ten years constructing the contents for the publication. In sourcing vintage images and important documents for the telling of the poem's story, she travelled to Troy, New York, conducting research at the Troy Library and visiting the heritage building that had once housed the Troy Sentinel newspaper. The publishers of the paper had been the first to print the poem back on December 23, 1823. While in Troy, McColl participated in a theatrical mock trial pertaining to the Moore/Livingston authorship debate.
