Research Library
The Hart Cluett Museum (HCM) manages and administers the largest local history library, archives, and research center in Rensselaer County. These collections, comprising more than 33,000 items, are the fastest-growing and most well-used at HCM. All collections are non-circulating. HCM is also the repository for the Rensselaer County Surrogate Court Records, 1791-1915. Records from 1915 to the present day are held at the Rensselaer County Surrogate Court.
Visit our Research Resources page for more information about the materials available at HCM.
For those unable to perform research in-person, the Fees page has more information on submitting Research Requests and Surrogate Court Record requests.
