Kate Mullany Dedication

On Friday, October 29th, Troy Mayor, Patrick Madden, local residents, regional historians, and City officials came together to celebrate the installation of an historic marker commemorating Kate Mullany and the Troy Collar Laundry Union. The marker is located on the northeast corner of the Hoosick and River Streets intersection in Troy.

Rensselaer County historian and Hart Cluett Museum’s Kathy Sheehan, local Troy historian P. Thomas Carroll (Hudson Mohawk Industrial Gateway) and Paul Cole from the American Labor Studies Center at the Kate Mullany National Historic Site spoke about the importance of the marker and Troy's connection to the labor movement.

Mullany supporter Sandra Rouse of Troy was responsible for arranging and installing the marker with support from Troy's Neighborhood Improvement Program (NIP).
