From the Director

June went by faster than you can yell “Cut!”

It flew by quickly due to filming for HBO’s The Gilded Age. Watching the process of transforming large portions of Troy into a filmset was fascinating. While I enjoyed my front row view of the filming process, I was most excited about watching Troy’s amazing architecture receive international attention!

There are so many great reasons to maintain our historic streetscapes. One of my favorites is how historic architecture creates a sense of unique identity and civic pride. Recently, our staff identified pride as one of our core institutional values. As I wrap up my third month as Executive Director, I am jotting down my strongest impressions of Rensselaer County. Civic Pride is first on the list. This is a community that is proud of its past and its present. It’s also a very welcoming community and it has been a pleasure to meet so many of our supporters and community leaders. I am eager to meet more Rensselaer County friends.

Send me an email if you would like to schedule a conversation. I would love to hear your thoughts about what makes this place so special.
