Murder and Mayhem!

Join this popular tour with all new stories of murder and mayhem in Rensselaer County. See the sites, including the site of the first gallows, jail and hear stories of famous trials including the Veiled Murderess and unsolved cases like the Hazel Drew murders.

Please purchase your ticket(s) in advance to secure your spot on the tour.

  • Tour begins and ends at the Hart Cluett Museum (57 Second St., Troy)

  • New! Admission to the museum is included in the cost of the walking tours. Tickets are $20 per person/$15 HCM Members. Children age 17 and under free.

  • The tour experience includes walking several blocks on city streets with uneven sidewalks. Walking shoes and weather-appropriate attire are advised.

  • The Hart Cluett Museum provides all walking tour participants with headsets, allowing each visitor to listen to the tour guide’s commentary while also ensuring everyone’s safety in accordance with NYS regulations regarding COVID-19. Please note that while you may use or bring your own earpieces/earbuds, single use ear pieces will also be provided by the Hart Cluett Museum at time of tour.

  • Facemasks are optional, but recommend during all in-person, indoor HCM programs and events.

Cancellation Policy as of April 1, 2022:

Ticketed tours and programs:

Refunds or exchanges must be requested no fewer than 7 days prior to the program date.  A $4 processing fee will be charged for refunds. If HCM cancels a tour or program, a full refund will be issued.

Please Note:  Tours may be cancelled by HCM due to extreme weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. Tours/events with less than 5 participants may be cancelled or rescheduled. The Hart Cluett museum will make every attempt to contact ticket holders prior to the start time to offer a full refund or exchange.  If you have questions regarding a tour,  please called 518-272-7232 X18.
