Textures of Troy - Printmaking Workshop

  • Hart Cluett Museum 57 2nd Street Troy, NY 12180 USA (map)

Troy is filled with architectural adornment and flourishes reflecting its wealth and industry across several historical eras. Led by artist and printmaker Rachael Lorimer, this hands-on workshop whisks our attention toward the shapes and textures of our city. Working from photos, students will create handmade printing blocks inspired by designs found in Troy’s architectural identity: iron fencing, cornices, columns, doorways, carved stonework, masonry and more. You’ll have a chance to print your block multiple times, so you’ll have enough to take home, trade with classmates, or leave with the Hart Cluett archive.

Open to all experience levels. Students should be comfortable using scissors and/or x-acto knives to cut paper. All materials, aprons and gloves are provided, but we recommend that you dress for mess!

Registration and materials- $45

Scholarships available! Reach out to Amanda at airwin@hartcluett.org or 518-272-7232 x 115
