Troy Fires
The Collar City has rebuilt after many fires throughout history. Follow the paths of destruction of the fire of 1820 that burned 69 buildings, the fire of 1834 when the city first used a new hydrant system, 1854 when a fire burned over 100 buildings along the riverfront, 1862 when a spark from a locomotive on the Green Island Bridge caused the city’s greatest loss by fire, and more. The tour will explore the heroism and technological advancements that came out of these events.
