Souvenir Craze

From about 1890 to 1930, when people traveled, they were sure to come home with a souvenir of the trip, especially pictorial ones. They were often made of fine china, brass and silver.

Barbara Urban has amassed a large collection of Troy souvenirs from that era, many depicting historic sites and buildings in the city. Learn how new 19th century technology technology fueled the craze and how war killed it. Troy souvenirs ranged from sterling spoons to quirky fans and banks.

Come on Thursday, October 3, 2019, 6:30 pm, to learn about this phenomena. If you are lucky, you may win a door prize!
